A transfer can be requested either through the client code or manually by using the RWI. If a transfer is requested through one's client code the current registrant of the domain is sent an authorisation email which must be responded to. The moment our system receives this authorisation email back from the registrant we initiate the transfer away from the sponsoring registrar. The domain status on a WHOIS search will show 'pending transfer'. It will remain in this pending state for 48 hours during which time the domain is functional as per normal unless it is expired. After that 48 hour period the domain transfer is complete. In the case of a manual transfer the reseller has two options: If the reseller has obtained an authorisation email from the registrant prior to the transfer request: Check I have permission from the client to transfer this domain and paste the email in the box provided. The registrant will not receive any authorisation request email and the transfer will initiate once we have verified the email supplied seems genuine and meets the requirements of the auDA transfer policy. If the reseller DOES NOT have an authorisation email from the registrant DO NOT check I have permission from the client to transfer this domain and the registrant will receive an authorisation request email which they must respond to in order to have the transfer processed. In both cases the reseller will need to submit their orders for processing from their pending queue after submitting the request.
